Black Jaguar Chocolate
Black Jaguar cacao is shade-grown in the Bosawás Biosphere Reserve region of Nicaragua—a tropical rainforest home to exceptional biodiversity.
Indigenous peoples are actively involved in protecting the reserve's natural resources, and cocoa sales help boost their income.
Ripe pods are hand-harvested from carefully selected and cultivated trees, and the cocoa is then purchased directly from small producers. The beans are naturally fermented and then air-dried and sun-dried by local fine cocoa experts before reaching our hands.
They then perpetuate the traditional methods: gentle roasting, winnowing and stone grinding , in order to preserve the complex fruity and floral aromas.
